The art, which will incorporate imagery from Islamic miniature paintings, decorative arts, textiles and ancient maritime routes between the Arab world and Guo-Qiang’s hometown of Quanzhou, China, will be featured in a Mathaf exhibit in December.
To make his drawings, the artist needs more than 200 local volunteers to help with stenciling, cutting and drawing and the final stage of ignition.The process will take place from Oct. 22-26 October at Al-Riwaq, the exhibition hall next to the Museum of Islamic Art.
